The first is called Monarch Beach Resort, and the second is La Bima.

Monarch Beach Resort is located nearly 1 km from a ferry site and it is a little bit outside the town center. It has got a beautiful beach where you would enjoy your stay while having something to drink/eat.

Is it possible to come and leave Ukerewe back to Mwanza on the same day?

Hi readers

It is my hope that you are fine. Today I am talking about when you would come to Ukerewe from Mwanza and leave  the island back to Mwanza. I always get asked by many visitors if they can visit the island and go back to Mwanza on the same day. A lot of people/travelers think that Ukerewe is very close to Mwanza and that they can travel and take tours around Ukerewe and then leave back to Mwanza  on the same day. The truth is that, you can come to Ukerewe and go back to Mwanza when you do not have any thing do around here but it is impossible when you really want to explore Ukerewe.

Let me use typical point to show you the  ferry timetable from Mwanza to Ukerewe and from Ukerewe to Mwanza in the morning and afternoon. Currently there are two morning ferries from Mwanza to Ukerewe. One leaves Mwanza at 8am and gets to Ukerewe at 12pm. It leaves here back to Mwanza at 2:00Pm and gets there at 6pm. The second leaves Mwanza at 9:00am and arrives in Ukerewe at 12pm. It returns to Mwanza at 2:00pm and arrives there at 6 pm.

According to the ferry schedule shown  above, it means that you will have like an hour to explore Ukerewe and this sounds that you would end up in town area where the ferry site is located. So this show that you need some many hours to explore Ukerewe and this would make you stay here for at least one night to enjoy your tours and then you will catch a morning or afternoon ferry to Mwanza.

Ukerewe Bicycle Tour

Ukerewe is a good place for people who like to relax on bicycle as they ride around. In Ukerewe no many traffic on roads especially in villages and the weather condition for biking is friendly.
Start cycling from Nansio town into villages with interesting objects. Bike to one of excited places including Rutare hii with view point, Hamuyebe with sunset catching point, Bukindo with the chief’s palace, Halwego view and cave point, and Kagunguli where the oldest Roman Catholic Church is found.
